ORDER Brings Esports to the World Stage
The Rocket League Invitational is an unprecedented kind of event that seeks to promote esports at a global level and spread a message of inclusivity. The World Expo 2020 where the esports tournament will take place is an international exhibition in the United Arab Emirates that showcases the various cultures of the world. The inclusion of esports in such an event is an important step for the industry, especially considering this year’s theme for the expo is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.”
The Australian Pavilion is Australia’s dedicated space at the exhibition where the country can showcase its history, its advancements and its plans for the future.
Marc Edwards, the chief executive officer of ORDER, explained that gaming events are a “key driver” of the esports industry. He is delighted by the opportunity to collaborate with the Australian Pavilion and the government of Victoria and is glad that they recognize the significance of gaming to the modern public.
The World Expo 2020 was initially planned to take place in 2020 but was delayed because of the pandemic. Instead, the Expo opened on October 1 last year and will continue through March 31.
