NoPing has committed to another long-term change in its Dota 2 roster, signing five new players in the hopes of improving its performance in 2022.
NoPing’s New Roster
NoPing has decided to change up its roster for the future Dota 2 season, signing contracts with Leonardo “RdO” Fernandes, João “4nalog” Giannini, Steven “Monster” Noel, Thiago “Thiolicor” Cordeiro, and Matheus “KJ” Diniz. Adding many new faces, to create a new roster might seem like a bold move, however, NoPing chose players who have experience playing with each other.
Thiolicor and KJ used to be teammates in SG e-sports, and RdO and 4nalog briefly played together in Hokori, leaving only Monster as the solo new participant. Monster spend most of the last competitive season playing with S A D B O Y S and 5ManMidas in the North American Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC).
The organization said in its announcement that it welcomes everyone on the team and is determined to train hard to win in the next Pro Circuit.
Coming Back from the Ashes
NoPing dissolved its previous roster last month, saying it will be fielding a new roster for the next season. About a month later the organization has assembled the new team.
The split seems to have been initiated by the players themselves. The Twitter announcement reads: “By decision of all players in the team, we will not continue with the current lineup. We respect the decision and wish success to the players that took the NoPing VPN name to various achievements in Dota 2.”
It is unknown why the players departed from the organization, with neither them nor NoPing stating any reasons. One likely reason might be the fact that the team failed to qualify for TI10.
NoPing’s team was one of several South American teams that fared decently during the last season. The SA region continues to flex its muscles proving itself in the highest stages of Dota 2, however, it also failed to live up to the hype during the International.
NoPing did well on the Animajor, but the team did not manage to qualify for the Internationals. The new roster has a tough road ahead of them, as before they can compete in any of the upcoming global events, they have to beat their opponents in the region. Thiolicor and KJ have already participated in the last International, so the team already has some sort of idea of what’s waiting for them.
