- Ninjas in Pyjamas have appointed Fabio Fusco to the prominent position
- He brings a lot of experience from the professional European football scene
- He’s also worked with Valencia CF’s esports division
Ninjas in Pyjamas has become a very big franchise over the past 20 years, which necessitated the hiring of Fabio Fusco as the organization’s new Head of Partnership Sales.
Fusco Joins NiP
As esports organizations grow larger and larger and start fielding teams in many other games, there comes the necessity for hiring more specialized staff. This is because, at some point, an esports org becomes a whole franchise, rather than a singular team. Ninjas in Pyjamas has been past said point for a long time, considering it was founded way back in the year 2000. This is why the Swedish organization has brought aboard Fabio Fusco as its new Head of Partnership Sales.
Fusco brings with him experience from the football business sector, in which he was heavily involved with business development and partnerships in football. The skillset he has acquired there will help him in his new role in NIP, where he will help grow the org’s partnership roster and assist in scaling the esports organization.
The new Head of Partnership Sales’ portfolio is quite varied. He started his work in the field of business development and partnerships in 2017, and has been involved with many clubs in Italy and Spain. These include FC Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan), Valencia CF and AS Roma.
During this time, Fusco held several executive positions in the mentioned football clubs, focusing on partnerships and sales. Considering his last job in AS Romana was also Head of Partnership Sales, NIP seems to have chosen the right man for their own position. It should also be noted that Fusco already has some experience in the esports scene as he has worked with Valencia CF’s VCF Esports, the football organization’s esports division, which is also the first dedicated esports division of a La Liga club.
“I’m thrilled to join NIP as their Head of Partnership Sales. After an amazing experience in football, the opportunity to work for such an incredible esports organization is an exciting path that I am honored to take,” Fusco said in a recent interview for Esports Insider. “I want to thank Jonas Gundersen and Hicham Chahine for their trust, they have fantastic plans for this legendary team and I’m enthusiastic about helping them grow the business side of it.”
