  • Popular Twitch streamer NICKMERCS will continue his activities on Twitch
  • The announcement comes amidst speculations of him joining YouTube
  • NICKMERCS’s community-building is a major reason why he decided to stay with Twitch

World-famous streamer NICKMERCS recently revealed he is extending his partnership with Twitch. This comes amidst speculations he will be joining YouTube Gaming.

NICKMERCS Announces His Contract Extension

NICKMERCS, as he is known in the gaming world, or Nick Kolcheff, teased that he has signed a contract, saying he and his crew are making huge moves. This comes not long after his longtime collaborator, TimTheTatman, announced he will be moving from Twitch over to YouTube Gaming. This sparked rumors that Nick will follow his fellow streamers like Tim, CouRage, and DrLupo, who all signed YouTube exclusive deals not too long ago.

These speculations, however, were all busted when on October 5, NICKMERCS revealed that has extended his Twitch Partnership with his community, MFAM, staying on the same platform.

“Twitch is where I built my community, it’s home,” said NICKMERCS in an interview for The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s the top destination for live-stream content I’m excited to build upon the foundation we started over 10 years ago. From streaming Gears of War and Call of Duty, to now being able to watch NFL games on my channel, Twitch has been a great partner and I’m looking forward to continuing that momentum,” he added.

A Long Career with Twitch

NICKMERCS has been creating content on Twitch for over a decade. He originally joined the platform in 2010, when he was still known under the name of JustinTV. Today the streamer amasses nearly 15 million followers. He has been recently playing a lot of Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone.

His style of building a community has also allowed him to create events like his $400,000 community MFAM BBQ.

Perhaps exactly because of the fact he has achieved so much with Twitch stops him from simply moving on. Another factor in him choosing to stay on Twitch perhaps could be him becoming co-owner of FaZe Clan in April, and also becoming Under Armour’s first gamer-athlete. These new deals might have secured his status on Twitch.

Not much is yet known about the details of NICKMERCS’s contract extension, but with aces like this up his sleeve, the streamer certainly has some leverage to strike a good deal for himself.
