Big news for Arena of Valor fans! The game will be getting an exciting new competitive season with a $10 million World Cup event waiting at the end.
Arena of Valor Gets a New Esports Season
The famous mobile MOBA Arena of Valor will be getting a new competitive season with a $10 million World Cup event waiting at the end. The $10 million World Cup will be preceded by an International Championship, also with a 7-digit prize pool of $2 million.
The esports title will host various regional championships across Europe, the Middle East, North America, North Africa, South America and South Asia where the athletes will grind through the ranks to qualify for the world championship. Other regions are also expected to make an appearance but the league is yet to make an announcement.
The grind will start at an amateur level where players will fight to climb the competitive ladder and rise to the semi-professional and pro leagues. Then, they can qualify for the Arena of Valor International Championship. Furthermore, the teams with the most championship points from the regional leagues will qualify for the main event for the year, the World Cup.
The League Goes Bigger
The 2022 league will be organized in collaboration between Level Infinite and Garena. The former company had previously announced the merger between Arena of Valor and the game’s original version, Honor of Kings. With this, the path to hosting bigger events than ever was opened, allowing for big international leagues.
With this in mind, the organizers have decided to attract interest in the game through a spectacular $10 million World Cup event. To make Arena of Valor even more appealing to athletes and esports organizations, the organizers have ensured that every team that qualifies for the climactic event will get at least $250,000 from the prize pool. The champions will have it even better as they will get $3.5 million back home.
Lastly, to make the Arena of Valor esports scene even more exciting, the organizers have scheduled various events for prominent content creators.
In other news, a few weeks ago Tencent announced that it is working on a new version of the game, specifically for the 2022 Asia Games.
