  • WePlay’s skillset will be invaluable to making the event as exciting as possible
  • The CS:GO PGL Major Stockholm 2021 begins on October 23

WePlay Esports was chosen as the operator of the Russian broadcast for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major in Stockholm this year.

WePlay Esports’ Experience to Add to the Quality

WePlay Esports is a Ukrainian esports event organizer that has recently made a name for itself by the critically acclaimed WePlay Esports AniMajor in Dota2. Now the organizer has been selected as the official Russian broadcaster of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major by PGL

WePlay Esports is already getting started with the planning and setting up of a broadcast that is meant to be as exciting and memorable as possible. With the company’s experience with setting up the atmosphere by customizing the set, dressing up talents in cosplay, including special exclusive content, and so on, it is no doubt the CS:GO tournament will look even more exciting through the WePlay lens.

The event organizers’ general producer Maksym Bilonogov excitedly spoke about the ongoing preparations. According to him, WePlay will use everything in its possession to pump up the quality of the broadcast and bring fans the best possible experience in CS:GO history.

“Our proficiency, previous events’ experience, bleeding-end production technology, endless passion and desire to create something new, everything will be unleashed during PGL Major Stockholm 2021,” Bilonogov promised.

If this wasn’t convincing enough, WePlay Esports has professional expertise on the matter as it has already hosted its very own events in Valve’s famous first-person shooter. WePlay! Clutch Island and the Regional Major Rankings in 2020 were all made possible by the Ukrainian organizer and showcased WePlay’s ability to create an atmosphere.

The Big Event in Stockholm and the Potential Difficulties

The CS:GO PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is scheduled for October 23 – November 7 and will take place in Sweden’s capital Stockholm.

The choice of location may potentially cause some issues. This concern comes in the light of the hurdles Valve is currently experiencing with Dota 2’s The International 10 and the Swedish laws, concerning what is officially acknowledged as a sport – earlier, the Swedish Sports Federation refused to label the global Dota 2 event as an elite sporting event, leading to potential travel difficulties for the esports athletes. Valve is currently looking to resolve the problem professionally but may have to look out for another country and venue for TI10.

It is unknown how PGL, who is organizing the Major, will proceed, but the Romanian organizer will likely wait and see if Valve manages to convince Swedish authorities.

Just as The International 10 has a record-breaking prize pool of $40 million, so does the CS:GO Major – the latter has $2 million set for the best among the 24 participating teams. This is the biggest prize poll a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event has ever had. Should the Swedish Sports Federation decide to step back on its stance on esports, it will have the opportunity to have two of the most exciting events in esports history hosted in the country.
