  • Riot Games is expanding VCT Game Changers to the EMEA region
  • The initiative will see three events that will showcase women in local esports
  • Participants have the chance to test their skills on a professional level and earn tempting prizes

The women-oriented VCT Game Changers VALORANT initiative will be launching in the EMEA, Riot announced.

VCT Game Changers EMEA: Details and Schedule

Riot Games is expanding its women-oriented VALORANT Champion’s Tour Game Changers program outside of the Americas and to the EMEA. Women in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey will now also get the chance to shine on the professional esports scene. Gamers from the Commonwealth of Independent States will also be allowed to take part.

Alexandra LePlante, event manager for Riot Games, announced:

“We’re very excited to announce the expansion of VCT Game Changers to the EMEA region, and we’re proud of how this initiative has helped create a competitive ecosystem that is more representative of the diverse VALORANT community.”

The initiative will see three consecutive women-only tournaments take place in the autumn and empower the local female gamers. The events are scheduled to begin around the end of the month on the following days:

  • EMEA Game Changers 1: September 27 to October 3
  • EMEA Game Changers 2: October 25 to October 31
  • EMEA Game Changers 3: November 15 to November 21

The first two of the events will serve as open qualifiers where a total of 64 teams can participate. The first of the bunch will be reserved for all-female teams while the second one in October will allow mixed teams of at least three women and up to two men. Both events will have a prize pool of around $23,600.

The final tournament in November will serve as a grand finals event where the best teams can win a share of the $59,000 prize pool.

Game Changers: Bringing More Women to Gaming

The VCT Game Changers is an initiative focusing on women and marginalized genders. Its idea is to provide spotlight and empower by providing that part of the gamer community with a chance to shine. In North America, two seasons of VCT Game Changers events have already taken place and whole all-girl teams have been formed thanks to the initiative.

Riot recently introduced a spin-off VALORANT Verizon Game Changers training program for female casters in order to popularize women across not only esports but the industry as a whole. The success of the VALORANT initiatives recently got Riot announcing a Game Changers program for the LCS as well.

Players who are interested in learning more about the EMEA Game Changers program can read the official announcement for extra information or sign up for the tournaments. Enthusiasts should keep in mind they have to be over 16 of age and at least Platinum One rank. Lastly, at least three of their members should be residents of EMEA.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
