  • The event will be held in the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul
  • It will see the world’s top VALORANT teams duke it out over the span of a week
  • Riot has yet to confirm ticket prices just three weeks before the start of the event

After two years of lacking live events, VALORANT fans might be treated to in-person playoffs.

Rumors of a Live Audience Circulate

The biggest VALORANT tournament of the year is fast approaching and according to multiple of Dot Esports’ sources, the VCT playoffs will be performed in front of a live audience. They will be played in Istanbul in the Volkswagen Arena, located in the north of the city. However, it is still unknown if the group stage will be held in the same place.

The hopes are that the venue will be adequate for Riot to host a live audience for the week-long event, starting September 9 and finishing September 18. The two extra days on these dates come from to so-called “dark days” between the conclusion of the playoff stage before the semifinals and grand finals. The event will be the culmination of this competitive VALORANT season and will also be very welcomed by fans, who have barely had any in-person event over the past couple of years, due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

The Event Is Getting Closer

Riot Games are cutting it somewhat close in terms of scheduling. There are less than three weeks before the start of the VALORANT playoffs, but the company has barely put out any information on the venue and tickets.

The event will see the best VALORANT teams from around the world come to the historical Turkish metropolis to duke it out in the season’s final event. The playoffs will feature GSL-style group play that will be followed by an eight-team double elimination bracket. After the conclusion of the group stage, the winners of each group will play the second-placed teams that qualified from other random groups.

The VCT promises some interesting encounters. FunPlus Phoenix, the winners of the previous VCT Masters event held in Copenhagen will go up against KRÜ Esports, XSET, and XERXIA in group C. Fans are eager to see what this year’s VCT will have to offer.
