  • The Vancouver Titans OWL franchise has decided to dismiss all of its current players and start anew
  • This decision comes in the wake of a terrible 1-15 season for the team
  • This is the second time the Vancouver Titans have had to make a full team reset

The Vancouver Titans franchise is dropping its entire roster. The team will look for an entirely new lineup for the 2022 Overwatch League season.

Vancouver Titans:  Starting Anew

The Vancouver Titans Overwatch League team will once again be dismissing all of its players, as the franchise aims to recover after a suboptimal season. Starting anew will have its challenges but it will also present new opportunities for the team to rise back up.

In the 2021 OWL season, the Vancouver Titans had quite a bad time. The team managed to win only a single professional game, against fifteen losses that it piled up throughout the months. With a track record like this, it became more than obvious that a big change is needed. That’s what led to the final decision to dismiss the current roster.

Vancouver Titans’ 2021 lineup included the following members:

  • Jiri “LiNkzr” Masalin (DPS)
  • Nathan “frdwnr” Goebel (Tank)
  • Anthony “Fire” King (Support)
  • Moon “ChangSik” Chang-sik (Tank)
  • Min-ki “Teru” Kim (DPS)
  • Randal “Roolf” Stark (Support)
  • Dalton Bennyhoff (DPS)
  • Abtin “ShRedLock” Shirvani (Tank)

While ShRedLock retired in May this spring, all of the other players will be saying their goodbyes with the franchise now, as the Vancouver Titans head towards a new future.

Titans’ Terrible Season

The Vancouver Titans lineup was set for success as the team picked some really talented players. However, the team never managed to achieve a good synergy and by extension, achieve good results. The team didn’t win a single game until a match against Boston Uprising where the Titans finally managed to get their single victory for the year.

The former Vancouver Titans players will now have to seek new teams. Some of them, including Changsik, Dalton and frdwnr are already looking to be picked by another franchise. Hopefully, teams will appreciate them for their own capabilities, instead of attaching their names to the terrible Vancouver Titans season.

This full-team reset is the Vancouver Titans franchise’s second time dropping an entire roster. In mid-2020 the team discarded all of its Korean players and started building a new team, picking entirely new members. Some of those are among the ones who are currently getting released from duty.
