OpTic is expanding its global reach in esports and gaming by purchasing Botisimo – a toolset to manage, monetize, and grow livestreaming communities.

OpTic Acquires Botisimo

As streaming becomes more prevalent in daily life, many new tools appear to help content creators streamline their and their viewers’ experiences. One such tool that has seen rapid growth recently, is Botisimo, a multi-platform chatbot tool for streamers. Its rise in prominence has been helped in large part by Frisco-based OpTic, one of the world’s largest esports and entertainment organizations. And now the company has announced the acquisition of Botisimo.

“Investing in the tools, content, and new technologies that help creators and teams deliver a better experience to viewers on stream is core to our efforts to grow communities around gaming,” said Adam Rymer, OpTic’s CEO, in a statement.

It probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that OpTic is buying Botisimo, considering the organization has been using it for its content creators’ and players’ streams since before OpTic merged with Envy about half a year ago. It’s exactly the latter part of the organization that joined Botisimo’s Series A funding round last year.

What Will Botisimo Provide OpTic?

“Botisimo is the complete set of tools that every creator needs to manage, monetize, and grow their livestream community across all major livestream and chat platforms,” the service’s website description states. It integrates with many platforms like  Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Discord, allowing users to manage multiple chats with livestream marketing, analytics, and audience engagement tools.

Since its launch in 2020, Botisimo has amassed more than 30,000 streamers on its platform, with some names even including celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Monstercat, and Dude Perfect. According to Botisimo, its tools engage with more than 36 million unique monthly viewers.

Now that the service is part of OpTic, it will help the large esports organization in diversifying revenue opportunities and deepening its involvement in streaming. “We look forward to supporting the product development and scalability of what we believe is one of the most powerful tools a creator can use to engage with their audience,” explained Rymer.

Botisimo founder and CEO Oscar Armstrong will join OpTic as its new executive vice president of technology, as part of the deal. “Joining a future-forward and industry-leading group in OpTic—a team that knows gaming, audience development, and entertainment inside and out—is a natural next step for Botisimo,” he said in a statement, explaining that he looks forward to helping add more and more of the industry’s biggest personalities and popular teams as users.
