  • The series will be released in three separate parts
  • The show promises exploration into deep ideas and complex characters

A trailer for Arcane, Riot’s anticipated League of Legends show, was recently released, giving fans a glimpse of what they will see on Netflix.

When Can Players Expect the New Show

Fans have anticipated Riot’s animated series Arcane for a long time now, and recently they were given a fascinating trailer for it.

The show will be aired on Netflix globally, and on Tencent Video in China. Arcane’s first episode will air on Nov. 7 at 8 pm CT. The date and time are not randomly chosen, as it will be just after the League of Legends 2021 World Championship finals, making it a good way to celebrate the end of the event.

Nicolo Laurent, Riot’s CEO, said that the inspiration for the company to make the animated series came from the passion and love of fans worldwide. He added that this is a new beginning for Riot and the company can’t wait to show players what it has in store for them across games, entertainment, and esports.

The show will be launched in two parts with the first one being the one previously mentioned. The next two parts will be released a week apart. The second act will air on Saturday, November 13, and the third one will be released on Saturday, November 20.

What We Know About the Backstory

Arcane’s events will play out in the famous and prosperous city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. These two cities are known in Runeterra as “cities of progress”. Many brilliant minds create new inventions using hextech, which is a way for any person to control magic energy. Of course, this threatens the balance of society.

Viewers will see the backstories of League of Legends champions, but the series is made to be its own standalone self-contained story with complex moral decisions, beautiful animation, and suspenseful storytelling.

Christian Linke, co-creator of Arcane, said that they wanted to do something interesting with the stories of Jinx and Vi. The team wanted to explore the idea of what a person would do for their family, what conflicts one will have to go through for them. He added that the amazing art style, made in partnership with Fortiche, will help viewers dive into the rich world of LoL.

Some familiar faces like Jinx, Vi, Jayce, and Caitlyn, will be seen in the show. Viewers will see how and why they became champions in the game. As well as the well-established characters, players will also see some new faces like Zaun citizens Vander and Silco.

Arcane promises a thrilling story and complex characters to add to LoL’s rich world.
