  • KOI will finally be able to join the League of Legends European Championship
  • Rogue will be rebranded to KOI but its management will remain the same
  • Popular online celebrity Ibai Llanos will play a crucial part in the partnership

Less than a year after its creation, the European esports organization KOI marks a huge step in its development by entering a “strategic alliance” with current LEC champions Rogue.

KOI and Rogue Enter Partnership

Preparations for the 2023 League of Legends European Championship are already undergoing and esports organizations are busy acquiring new players and training for the next competitive season. But one big change that happened over the past few days is the new deal between esports organizations Rogue and KOI, who enter a strategic partnership for the 2023 Spring Split.

“I couldn’t be more proud of KOI and what we’ve been able to achieve in such a short period of time,” remarked KOI co-owner Ibai Llanos. “This partnership with Rogue just accelerates our growth and broadens our opportunities to provide the most engaging and exciting experiences for our fans. ¡Vamos!”

The partnership will allow KOI to finally join the LEC. Rogue, who are the current LEC champions, will be rebranded to KOI, but the current LEC management will be in charge of running the main League of Legends team. Anna Baumann, Executive Vice President of Esports, Infinite Reality (Rogue’s parent company), said that the organization is more than thrilled to work with KOI. “With this alliance, we can up the game and serve our fans even more industry-leading entertaining content, all while continuing to build Ibai’s legacy in esports,” she added.

What Can Fans Expect from This Partnership?

KOI and Rogue will have an ambassador of the partnership between the two organizations in the face of Ibai Llanos, the social media celebrity and Twitch luminary who operates the fourth most followed channel in the world. With more than 11 million followers on TikTok and 9 million subscribers on YouTube, Ibai Llanos is one of the world’s most popular streamers out there. His massive following will surely help popularize the new partnership.

The streamer is actually the founder of KOI. Created less than a year ago in December 2021, the organization already has two teams: League of Legends, which competes in the Spanish Superliga (LVP), and VALORANT, which after a season competing in Spain has won a place for 2023 in the VALORANT Champions Tour. With this partnership, KOI’s astonishing growth over the past year will see a new boost.
