  • The Community Effort Orlando (CEO) will open its registrations on June 6
  • This year’s event will run in December and will implement CEOtaku’s format as well
  • CEO will limit its initial players to 2500, so enthusiasts should make haste

Community Effort Orlando is yet another exciting event for fighting game fans to enjoy. Registrations open on June 6 with only 2500 spots, so enthusiasts should sign up quickly.

One More Fighting Game Event To Look Forward To

After some turbulent times for fighting games events, the Community Effort Orlando (CEO) solemnly announced it would be returning. The event is scheduled for the end of the year on December 3-5. Registrations, however, open in two days, on June 6.

The founder of the event Alex Jebailey, who is also fighting game community director for ESL and DreamHack, revealed more details about CEO 2021. The event will implement a combination of the formats of CEO and CEOtaku. It will play across ten fighting games and will accommodate 2500 people in total, 512 for each game. CEO will be played in person in the Wyndham Orlando Resort

As registrations are limited, fighting game fans should stay tuned and be ready to sign up.

COVID-19 in the Core of the Issue Once Again

The player numbers seem so limited because of the still ongoing pandemic. The organizers also confirmed that it was a hard choice to make. However, the CEO staff announced that a few more spots might open in the future, depending on how the COVID-19 situation progresses.

The event will also accommodate spectators in limited numbers: 500-weekend passes will be available to any who wish to watch the action live.

All visitors will be asked to abide by the measures against the pandemic’s spread. The CEO organizers urged every participant, player or viewer, to get vaccinated.

Additional details about the tournament, including the full extent of the COVID-19 counter-measures and the official hosting hotel block, will be announced when the registrations open on Sunday. The team has planned a backup hotel not too far away for when the first one gets filled.

Community side event applications and applications for volunteering, media, and the artist alley will be on CEO’s official website.

It is reassuring to see fighting games are once again receiving big dedicated events. The Evolution Championship Series will also return in August this year, providing even more competitive action to fighting game fans worldwide.
