  • Dr Disrespect dislikes YouTube’s clipping function, calling it “outdated”
  • He barged into a conversation between Fwiz and CouRage to express his opinion
  • This is not the first time Dr Disrespect criticizes YouTube’s features

The Doc is out disrespecting again, this time criticizing YouTube’s clipping system and gifted subs technology, saying it is outdated compared to Twitch.

Dr Disrespect Wants YouTube to Work on a Better Clipping System

Ever since his mysterious perma-ban from Twitch back in 2020, Dr Disrespect has become one of the staple stars of YouTube Gaming. Despite being one of the platform’s most popular content creators, the Doc has often been vocal about YouTube’s shortcomings. Most recently, Dr Disrespect gave his opinion on YouTube’s “outdated” clipping system.

He vented his frustration on social media after seeing Ryan “Fwiz” Wyatt, YouTube’s Head of Gaming discussing NFT’s with Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, 100 Thieves co-owner. The Doc saw fit to barge into the conversation and drop his opinion on YouTube’s feature.

“Or you can just call me on the flip phone to talk about the future of NFT’s and gaming. That way Fwiz can focus on ‘gifted memberships’ and ‘clips’ technology from 2009,” wrote the Doc, criticizing the platform’s outdated features.

The Doc’s criticisms and YouTube Gaming’s Answer

This might seem like a strange and sudden diversion from the topic of NFTs that Fwiz and CouRage were talking about, but the Doc is famous for his, as his name suggests, disrespect for common conversational practices. He immediately steered the conversation away from the blockchain theme, to something he is concerned about.

Unlike Twitch, YouTube has had a clip feature for less than a year, having released it in January. According to some content creators on the platform like Dr Disrespect, the feature is still not as good as that of Twitch. Many YouTube Gaming streamers have talked about the platform’s disadvantages, and it seems more “outdated” features like this are the case.

Fwiz responded to the Doc, claiming that YouTube first had to build up YouTube as the world’s largest gaming platform before adding good features.

YouTube has before met with Dr Disrespect to discuss the future of the platform. That meeting was prompted because of the Doc saying, again, that the platform is “underdeveloped”. It is still unknown what came out of that discussion, but it’s certainly not a revamp of the clipping system, as the Doc wants.

YouTube decided not to work on the clipping feature, but instead recently removed the dislike count on videos. This was a move many creators, including PewDiePie, criticized. Users can still view the dislike count if they install an addon.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
