  • Tundra now has four players as it continues rebuilding its roster
  • Considering MinD_ContRoL’s vast experience, it’s rumored he might become the new IGL
  • Tundra might sign Pure as its fifth and final member

After spending more than four years in Nigma Galaxy, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov moved to Tundra Esport’s roster, which is currently being rebuilt.

MinD_ContRoL Joins Tundra

Tundra Esports has been on a quest to rebuild its roster over the past week in preparation for the start of the competitive Dota 2 season of 2024. There have been numerous rumors regarding whom the organization will sign for their lineup in the last few days and it seems the predictions are coming true, as Tundra revealed they’ve added Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov.

On Twitter, the organization revealed that the 28-year-old Bulgarian player will be Tundra’s new offlaner. His taking this position also marks the first time he will be a permanent part of a different team for the last four years, as he spent that time in Nigma Galaxy, whom MinD_ContRoL left in late December.

Considering the Bulgarian player has been in Nigma for quite a long time, it would be interesting to see how he will adjust to the new roster. He has had the occasional short stint as a substitute in other rosters, which should hopefully give him enough skills to make quick adjustments. Also, given MinD_ContRoL’s many years of experience at top-tier competitions, it’s likely he will take the lead of Tundra’s revamped roster.

What’s Next for Tundra?

With the Bulgarian player now part of Tundra’s lineup, the organization boasts two veterans and TI winners, which should give them a big advantage in upcoming matches. The other one is Topson, whom Tundra revealed on January 7. He actually used to be part of Tundra’s TI11 winning roster but was benched due to various reasons back in September of 2023.

That being said, the team also has two relative newcomers, which will balance out things. A day before Tundra announced that Topson was joining, the organization introduced their support duo of Edgar “9Class” Naltakian and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon. Although Whitemon has experience competing in tier-one tournaments, he is still relatively unfamiliar with the competitive landscape of the highly competitive Western European (WEU) region.

However, Tundra still needs a fifth player. It’s been rumored that this could be Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, and considering some other rumors about the team turned out to be true, it would not be too surprising if we see the player join Tundra soon. Pure was put on BetBoom Team’s inactive roster late in December 2023 and is still free for transfer. He also used to play as a carry player at one point in his career. Taking all this in mind, it’s quite possible Pure will be Tundra’s fifth player.

It’s expected that the organization will soon officially reveal its last member, so stay tuned for more information.
