  • 9Class was ranked second last month on the Dota 2 European leaderboard
  • Meanwhile, Topson is a two-time The International winner and has experience with Tundra
  • The organization still needs two more players to complete its roster

It’s been quite a busy weekend for Tundra Esports, as the UK-based organization announced the signing of Edgar “9Class” Naltakian and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen.

Tundra Sings Two Players

With the holiday break over for most esports organizations, many are now busy readjusting their rosters for the upcoming events and Tundra is no exception to that. The organization has been trying to get its composure back the past few days as its Dota 2 lineup has undergone some serious changes.

On January 6, Tundra announced they have added Edgar “9Class” Naltakian to their roster, which is currently in the middle of a rebuild. The addition of the Russian player marks quite a positive for the organization, as he was ranked second last month on the Dota 2 European leaderboard. He will join the team’s position five, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon, as the two players become the org’s new support duo.

Of course, a Dota 2 team needs more players, and Tundra’s next piece is Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, whom the organization announced yesterday. The Finnish player is the revamped lineup’s new midlaner and is actually well-known by the organizations and the fans as he has been playing for Tundra since September 2023. However, following Tundra’s somewhat disappointing run during The International 12, Topson went inactive until yesterday, when the organization announced they re-signed him.

Despite the disappointments that the team and the player saw a few months ago, Topson still remains a two-time TI winner, a mark of his many years of top-level experience. In fact, he was crucial when Tundra Esports won The International 11 back in 2022, following a convincing 3-0 victory over Team Secret.

What’s Tundra’s Next Step?

Interestingly, for a few days now, there have been rumors that Topson and 9Class would join Tundra alongside Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, and Egor “Xakoda” Lipartiya. Although the organization only needs two more players to rebuild its roster, chances are they could be some of the three mentioned above.

That being said, nothing is certain yet as Tundra continues to search for players. The org still has more work to do after it shockingly parted ways with most of its members at the start of the year. The previous roster stayed with the org for less than a month and participated in just one event under Tundra’s flag at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023

It’s likely that the organization will reveal the rest of its lineup in the coming days, so stay tuned for more information.
