  • Valve introduces more skins with the Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache II
  • The prices for the skins remain the same as those from the Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache I
  • Both Caches will be available for purchase until January 12

Building on the relative success of the first batch of skins from Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache, Valve is bringing in a new round of fan-made skins available to battle pass users.

A New Cache is Coming

As part of their holiday specials, Valve is bringing in more fan-made skins to Dota 2 with the game’s Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache II. As the name suggests, there was a Cache I that was released last month which was received with mixed feelings initially. Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache I featured many skins made and voted for by fans, but its anime style somewhat divided the community, as many of the skins reminded players of League of Legends champions.

Despite the initially mixed reception, the Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache I was a success, prompting Valve to follow up by releasing another fan-made skin collection. “The abundance of talent in the Dota 2 Workshop continues to prove far too vast to fit within a single offering of the Collector’s Cache,” Valve said, “so this frosty Diretide season welcomes a second round of treasure to keep your heroes bundled up tight.”

What Does It Offer?

Valve included a lot of new cosmetics in the game, including very rare items, such as rare skins for Treant Protector and Anti-Mage. Dota 2 players now also have the opportunity to get a very rare skin for Void Spirit, as well as an ultra-rare one for Chaos Knight. Other skins that feature are for Legion Commander, Silencer, Alchemist, Oracle, Brewmaster, Doom, Pudge, Night Stalker, Phantom Assassin, Clinkz, Ogre Magi, Vengeful Spirit, Huskar, and Techies.

As far as pricing goes, the skins from the Diretide 2022 Collector’s Cache II are also being sold for $2.49, as it was with the first batch of skins. “Unboxing 14 of these treasures will automatically grant you 36 Battle Levels, and the odds of receiving a bonus rare item will increase with each one you open,” Valve explained. “You can also recycle any unwanted items for 2 Battle Levels.”

The original Collector’s Cache was supposed to end on December 18, but considering it became more popular than initially expected, Valve decided to extend it until January 12, alongside the second Cache. It has to be noted that all items in the Caches are untradeable and unmarketable, except for the ultra-rare Tiny and Chaos Knight sets.

As Dota 2’s battle pass enters its final weeks, fans will be treated to one last big batch of skins to choose from.
