  • The player tweeted he is looking for a team as he was kicked out earlier today
  • This happened somewhat suddenly, considering he was crucial for Tundra’s recent qualifier wins
  • He spent less than two months with Tundra Esports

MinD_ContRoL has been seemingly kicked out of Tundra hours before the org’s match against Shopify Rebellion in DreamLeague Season 22’s Group Stage 1.

MinD_ContRoL Is Out of Tundra

Professional players leaving teams is obviously a major part of the esports field. However, it’s rare to see them be kicked out suddenly, especially right before an important match for the organization. This is exactly what seems to have happened to Dota 2 player Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, according to a recent post of his.

The Bulgarian player was most recently part of Western European Dota 2 stalwarts Tundra Esports’s roster. That is until just a few hours ago from the time of writing of this article, as MinD_ContRoL wrote on Twitter that he is looking for a new team as he was kicked just before a match.

Tundra Esports is currently participating in the DreamLeague Season 22’s Group Stage 1 right now and they’re playing against Shopify Rebellion. The start of the match was notably delayed significantly around the time MinD_ContRoL announced that he had been kicked. And then the game started, the Bulgarian player was nowhere to be seen, with Vladislav “laise” Lais playing in his stead.

He Had a Short Stay in Tundra

With the news coming so suddenly, many fans were understandably shocked by the alleged decision of the esports organization. Tundra signed MinD_ContRoL in January and over the past couple of months, it seemed like the player was working quite well with the rest of the team.

Since joining the team the Bulgarian player has gone through three different qualifiers alongside his now-former teammates. MinD_ContRoL was instrumental in helping the team qualify for the ESL One Birmingham 2024, as well as the current DreamLeague Season 22. The latter event would mark his first official tournament with Tundra Esports – but it lasted a single day.

Perhaps Tundra decided on this radical change due to the terrible results they’ve been having at the event. During the first day of Group Stage 1 Tundra had gone 1-3. Even the team’s Liquipedia page already lists MinD_ContRoL in the “former player” section, confirming he is out of the organization for good.

At the time of writing of this article, neither the player, nor Tundra have shared details about what exactly led to this decision. The story will likely unfold more, so stay tuned for further updates.
