  • The Ukrainian organization resigns its former Dota 2 roster
  • HellRaisers initially went inactive in early March due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
  • It moves its operations in Serbia and takes a firm position against the war

HellRaisers resign its previous Dota 2 roster after being away from the game for almost two months due to the Russo-Ukrainian war.

HellRaisers Returns to Competitive Dota 2

The war in Ukraine has changed the lives of people not even directly involved in combat. Businesses and careers are suffering in one way or another, and this has not passed by even exports. Many Ukrainian esports organizations have stopped business with Russian partners and sacked Russian players.

Another organization forced to stop operations is HellRaisers, which went dormant last month due to the war. The organization still played its employees despite its status and it has now decided to once again go active. By resigning its previous Dota 2 roster, the organization is making a stand against the war and moving most of its activities to Serbia.

“We stand against the war and we want to keep doing what’s important for us—playing, competing, and expressing our position,” HellRaisers’ statement reads. “Therefore, we have decided to relocate our organization to Serbia. Additionally, we refuse to cooperate with any partners and counterparties from Russia.”

It Will Take Time to Restructure

Although fans of the organization’s Dota 2 team rejoice, HellRaisers mentioned that it will take some time before the organization is fully operational again. This is because now they have to rebuild most of the club’s infrastructure from scratch, a task further complicated by the fact that the HellRaisers have to do this in a different country.

Right now, the team is bringing back its old roster composed of Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov, Yaroslav “Limitless” Parshin, Geogrii “Gilgir” Svistunov, Maxim “re1bl” Afanasyev, and Arman “Malady” Orazbayev. The players were free to explore different possibilities after HellRaisers initially went inactive, but none of them signed on different rosters. It is unknown when the team will play again, as Valve indefinitely postponed the Spring Tour of the Dota Pro Circuit for the Eastern Europe region.

Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates, as the organization is rebuilding again.
