Team Vitality has revealed their new roster for the CS:GO 2022 season. This includes Astralis veterans Emil “magisk” Reif, Danny “zonic” Sørensen, and Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen.

Vitality CS:GO Team Goes International

The French esports organization Team Vitality has recently unveiled their new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster for the 2022 season. The organization confirmed the signing of former Australis players Emil “magisk” Reif, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen, who have already won multiple Majors before.

These roster changes were announced back in November, however, at the time no names were cited. The purchases were facilitated by the venture capital firm Rewired invested in Vitality. Rewired wants to invest €50M ($56.7m) into the organization over three years, and is committed to “creating European super teams”.

Fabien “Neo” Devide, Co-Founder and Esports Director of Vitality, believes that this deal will help the organization’s CS:GO team reach the top rankings. “Since the beginning of our entrance into CS:GO, we have been working with intensity to get to the top and nurture some of the best talents France has to offer,” Devide said in a statement.

Magisk, Dupreeh, and Zonic Join Other Veterans

Vitality is setting up to have a strong next season. Magisk and dupreeh’s firepower should add immensely to the team’s capability, and zonic’s years of experience would guide the team’s talents. The massive investment the organization is getting from Rewired will also play a crucial role in providing the team with good training facilities and support.

Devide said the idea is to “create a new CS:GO culture of European talent with legacy athletes.” He added he believes that magisk, dupreeh, and zonic’s abilities will help the team become one of the best CS:GO teams in the world. The two players and coach join Vitality’s star Mathieu “?ZywOo?” Herbaut, who said that he has a lot to learn from the new additions. “I am so ready to show everyone how far this team can go,” he said. The three new players will also be joining Dan “?apEX?” Madesclaire, who remains the team leader.

Despite the impressive lineup, the team will also have challenges ahead of them, namely the language barrier. Aside from Magisk’s short stay in OpTic, none of the players on the now international French-Danish squad have experience playing in an English-speaking squad.

Depite the potential problems, Astralis wished their former members the best in their new endeavor.

It’s expected the new international roster will make its debut at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, which should start in late January.

The team’s current composition looks like this:

  • Mathieu “?ZywOo?” Herbaut
  • Dan “?apEX?” Madesclaire
  • Kévin “?misutaaa?” Rabier
  • Emil “?Magisk?” Reif
  • Peter “?dupreeh?” Rasmussen
  • Danny “?zonic?” Sørensen (coach)
