  • The 25-year-old coach leaves the organization after spending more than a year with it
  • This is just the latest in a series of changes the team underwent in the past couple of months
  • So far, Sangal are yet to announce who will fill the coach position

Following a myriad of mixed results in various online tournaments, Sangal has decided to part ways with coach Klesti “stikle-” Kola.

Stikle- Leaves Sangal

European esports team Sangal has had a somewhat rough time over the past few months in competitive Counter-Strike. It seems like the organization has decided to undergo some drastic changes in an attempt to improve their standings, which has resulted in coach Klesti “stikle-” Kola leaving the roster.

Sangal announced the departure of the 25-year-old coach yesterday, thanking him for the value he had provided the team and wishing him all the best in his future endeavors. This also marks the end of a year-long stint with the organization, which saw stikle- help the team consistently make it through various early stages of events, only to then fail right before making it to the main live events

Throughout 2023, Sangal made other changes to their roster in an attempt to attain better results. The team eventually settled on a mix of players from throughout Europe, but unfortunately, even this did not net the desired results. Currently, following the last round of changes in the main lineup in November, Sangal’s roster looks like this:

  • Linus “LNZ” Holtäng
  • Simon “Yxngstxr” Boije
  • Pere “sausol” Solsona Saumell
  • Ilya “Ganginho” Chernychenko
  • Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç

Unfortunately for the Counter-Strike team, 2024 has not yet brought them much luck. Sangal hoped that stikle-‘s history of attending Majors during his time with Bad News Eagles would also grant them luck in qualifying for such a prestigious event. However, Sangal failed to make a splash in the new year, notably bowing out early in all four PGL Major Copenhagen Europe open qualifiers.

Despite the myriad of setbacks the team continues to grind through various online events, although it will have to now do so without stikle-‘s guidance. Sangal are yet to announce who will come and replace the ex-coach. Currently, the team is competing in YaLLa Compass Spring 2024 Contenders and A1 Gaming League Season 8. Later this month, Sangal’s players will participate in ESL Challenger League Season 47, which begins on February 27.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
