Esports bookie Pinnacle returns with another edition of its namesake Cup event. Once again, 16 CS: GO teams will have a shot at divvying up a $100,000 prize pool.

Pinnacle Brings CS:GO Teams Together in Cup Event

Pinnacle, an acclaimed esports bookmaker, has announced the second edition of its CS:GO Pinnacle Cup, which will start on June 28. The event is a part of the company’s efforts to bolster its engagement with esports fans and create fresh branding opportunities, as well as contribute to the sustainability of the competitive ecosystem.

The second edition of the event will feature a $100,000 prize pool and will come in the same format as the first event, which took place in March. To see the event through, Pinnacle is teaming up with Relog Media and GRID Esports, which will be responsible for the execution and data aspects of the event.

Pinnacle and Trustly will remain in their capacity as official sponsors. A new face has appeared, too, with GosuGamers coming on board as an official media partner. Pinnacle’s involvement in both Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been notable.

Just recently, the bookie launched a Dota 2 event, which saw Team Spirit win the biggest share of the pot and win the edition. Pinnacle CEO Paris Smith said that the company was happy about the follow-up edition.

“We’re excited to announce a second Pinnacle Cup CS:GO event, following the success of our inaugural tournament in the spring,” Smith said. The continuous efforts that go into the esports ecosystem demonstrate the bookie’s relationship with competitive video gaming, she noted.

Esports Betting Companies Invest in the Gaming Ecosystem

She spoke about scaling the company’s offer through successful collaborations with other established experts in the esports space, including Relog Media and Grid. There is a lot on the line for esports players, too, with the winning team securing $80,000 of the total pool and the runner-up claiming $20,000.

A total of 16 teams will test their mettle in the event, with 12 proceedings to the next stage. Pinnacle has already invited several teams to participate, including HAVU, MIBR, Swiss Stage, Sinners, and others.

It’s interesting to note that MIBR is a team sponsored by Betway, a rival bookmaker. The company renewed its sponsorship of MIBR earlier this year as a commitment to the Brazilian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ecosystem.

The event will be broadcast on The Esports Bible’s official Twitch Channel. Commenting on the arrival of the second edition, GRID Esports CEO Moritz Maurer said that he was excited to welcome the opportunity.

Pinnacle, Maurer noted, has been continuously investing in esports in a bid to elevate the competitive ecosystem. “It is a pleasure to collaborate further for this event with the goal to develop another showcase for the successful adoption of official data in esports,” he added and said that GRID was thankful to be assisting Pinnacle as an official data partner.

Similar alliances between esports tournaments and bookmakers are not entirely new. Last week Parimatch, another bookie, secured the naming rights for Ukrainian Esports Federation events. The company previously extended its sponsorship of, a Russian esports organization.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
