  • The 26-year-old player is widely considered the best Serbian player of all times
  • He now completes G2’s current CS2 roster
  • He is reunited with NiKo and huNter- with whom he played last time he was in G2

Having had his first stint with G2 between 2019 and 2021, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković returns to the European organization’s CS2 lineup.

G2 Sign Nexa

Often regarded as the best Serbian Counter-Strike player of all time, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković would bring a ton of experience and skill into any team he is a part of. Over the years, he has played in different roles, the most important of which is probably his in-game leader spot that he has taken up in various rosters.

This makes him a well-rounded individual with a lot of experience leading others and he would be a great asset to any team willing to hire him. These are all likely reasons for G2 Esports to be happy, as the organization announced earlier today that nexa has returned to the organization’s starting lineup.

What’s His Career Like?

The 26-year-old Serbian CS2 player comes in to replace Justin “jks” Savage. Nexa is quite familiar with G2 as he represented the European team as IGL throughout 2021. Unfortunately, the team did not win any big trophies during nexa’s first stint with them. Despite that, the Serbian player helped the team place second at IEM Cologne 2021 and the PGL Major Stockholm, as well as peak at No. 2 in the world rankings.

However, considering the organization did not achieve any top spot during the time, it was decided that nexa would leave the team in favor of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen who joined G2 at the start of 2022. Meanwhile, the Serbian player went and took leadership of OG.

While sat at the helm of the new squad, little of note was achieved. Arguably the best the team scored at that time was a top-four finish at BLAST Premier Spring Final and World Final in 2022. OG also briefly peaked at No. 8 in the world rankings last year but slid out of the top 30 throughout 2023.

What is G2’s Roster’s Future?

Nexa’s return to G2’s lineup comes at the tail end of a series of rumors surrounding the team’s composition. There were reports that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač would be leaving the lineup, but he remained on G2’s lineup as the organization and the player confirmed he would be staying.

Similar rumors surrounded Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, but those were also quickly put down. Petar “peca” Marković, G2’s General Manager, was quick to come out and state that G2 were “not looking to sell m0NESY at any price” and the Russian stayed on G2’s lineup.

With the rumors put down and nexa coming into the team, G2’s roster is complete. The Serbian player is also reunited with a part of the current lineup, as he’s played alongside both Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač and NiKo during his last stint with the organization. G2 Esports’ CS2 lineup looks like this now:

  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
  • Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
  • Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
  • Jan “Swani” Müller (coach)
  • Justin “jks” Savage (benched)
