  • The Kazakhstani player has been released from the European organization’s starting lineup
  • It seems the main reason for this was because the player dynamic was not working out
  • GamerLegion has yet to announce who will replace the player

Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov has left GamerLegion after spending just two months with the European organization.

NeaLaN and GamerLegion Part Ways

GamerLegion is now one man short of their full starting Counter-Strike lineup after the organization announced that Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov has left the team. The 23-year-old player was brought into the organization in July of this year to replace Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek.

NeaLaN’s time with GL was quite short, with the organization attending just three events with the Kazakhstani player as part of their ranks: IEM Cologne, Gamers8, and ESL Pro League Season 18. The player’s departure comes soon after the team crashed out of ESL Pro League in 17-20th place after missing out on a playoff spot, although it’s unknown if that was the only reason for the leaving of the player.

“Sometimes, things just don’t work out. Goodbye neaLaN,” reads a statement by GamerLegion posted on Twitter. “We want to express our gratitude for all the hard work and dedication he brought to the team. Even though neaLaN was only a part of our GamerLegion family for a short time, he made a significant impact and led our team through some tough recent tournaments.”

According to the organization’s statement, it seems that the main reason for the player’s departure is the fact he did not fit in well with the team. Despite that, GamerLegion say that they are glad for the contribution that neaLaN brought to the team during these past two months.

“Change is a part of every journey, and we will navigate through this transition, we thank you, our amazing GamerLegion fans, for your ongoing support,” the organization wrote. It also reminded fans to look out for future updates that will announce what Gamer Legion is planning for its Counter-Strike roster. The European organization has just over two weeks to fill their roster vacancy before starting their run in the IEM Sydney, which will kick off on October 16.

There is also the possibility that neaLaN simply did not meet GamerLegion’s expectations during the past couple of months. He currently sports a 0.87 rating and he has not shined particularly well with anything during his time with the organization.

GamerLegion currently fields this incomplete roster:

  • Isak “isak” Fahlén
  • Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand
  • Nicolas “Keoz” Dgus
  • Sebastian “volt” Maloș
  • Ashley “ash” Battye (coach)
