  • The coach decided to leave the organization on his own will
  • He has been with the team since it restructured in February
  • Hooch has not yet revealed if he’s in talks with other organizations

“I felt like it’s time for a change as a new game comes up,” said Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov as one of the main reasons he decided to part ways with 1WIN.

Hooch Leaves 1WIN

After spending eight months as 1WIN’s head coach, Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov has announced that he is leaving the team. The 36-year-old Russian coach and broadcast analyst has been a part of the organization since its rebuilding back in February of this year. However, earlier today he declared on Twitter that he is parting ways with the 1WIN while wishing all the best to the organization and its players. The organization also wished him all the best in his future endeavors.

As mentioned, hooch entered 1WIN in the winter of 2023 when the organization. He was signed alongside two of his long-time teammates, Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy and Aleksei “NickelBack” Trofimov. Around the same time, 1WIN also brought along Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov to complete the team.

In this configuration, the organization performed rather well during 2023, hovering around the top 30 of the world’s ranking. They topped many online tournaments, the most lucrative being in late September when 1WIN secured first place in the CCT 2023 Online Finals 3 after defeating MIBR to claim the grand prize of $100,000.

Why Did Hooch Leave?

Despite all of these successes, the Russian organization was not able to qualify for any big event. It seems this played a large part hooch’s decision to leave the team. “We had good results in the last months, but I felt like it’s time for a change as a new game comes up,” the coach said in a recent interview for HLTV.

“With some players on this team, we worked together for like three years, and I think it will be better for both sides to have changes. There is no bad blood, it’s just sometimes time to go. I’m really thankful to everyone and wish them all the best,” hooch further explained. “I decided to look for other opportunities and have a fresh start in Counter-Strike 2, so let’s see what the future holds for me.”

Hooch has not revealed if he is currently in talks with any other organization that would like to sign him up. However, he is an experienced coach, so it likely won’t take long for him to find a new team. Meanwhile, 1WIN has yet to announce who will replace hooch as the team’s new head coach.
