  • DanB_VALVE employee urged players to take action against boosting lobbies
  • He gave advice on how to recognize and report such foul actions
  • User ‘u/birkir’ successfully tested the method and got 40 boosters banned in 10 minutes

Valve continues its crusade to battle dishonest behavior in CS:GO.

Valve Takes Harsh Measures

As one of the most popular competitive games out there, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has had a fair share of cheaters, match-fixers and boosters. The company has been in a constant struggle to reduce their activities. To avoid the efforts going on a standstill, Valve starts handing down more severe punishments to offenders. Now people who partake in boosting run the risk of not only being banned from CS:GO but having their Steam accounts being permanently disabled.

“The lock on this account is permanent and we cannot help you further with this. Please note you will not receive another reply about this issue and we will not be re-enabling the account,” Valve warned.

DanB’s Method of Cracking Down Booster Lobbies

Valve employee DanB_VALVE recently suggested people a way to report boosting lobbies. He explained how to recognize them and gave suggestions on what to do:

‘If you see this happening, please send over a screenshot to csgoteamfeedback at valvesoftware dot com ([email protected]) and title the email “Boosting Lobby”. We’ll be happy to take a look. Thanks!”

User ‘u/birkir’ did not hesitate to try DanB’s method out and see if Valve really does care. Not only did he try but he went on a spree, finding several such lobbies and resulting in the bans of over 40 offenders.

This immediately got fans hyped. People have long been urging Valve to take more action when it comes to keeping the competitive multiplayer clean of wrongdoers. And by the recent bans it seems that the company is definitely hearing.

‘U/birkir’ is now even moving on to try and create a bot that automatically reports such people. According to him, Valve is much more active when it comes to keeping the CS:GO community clean than Overwatch is. Therefore making the process of reporting more efficient will get even more offenders removed.

Valve didn’t want to establish a system of favoritism and will not be awarding any in-game prizes to those who actively help in the busting of such lobbies. However a better game should be reward enough. Valve has been on a roll when it comes to adhering to players’ standards. Recently the company took action to fix the Trusted Mode that used to cause users all kinds of trouble. Before that, the company performed a long-overdue revamp to its VAC ban rulings. To top it, the company just released a stat-tracking tool to make statistic-making easier for fans.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
