After months of deliberation, 25-year-old coach Piotr “nawrot” Nawrocki has decided to leave 9INE’s team.

Nawrot Departs 9INE

Polish esports organization 9INE will have to look for a new coach for their Counter-Strike 2 players as Piotr “nawrot” Nawrocki has left the team. For the past year and a half, he was crucial for the successes that 9INE saw at events like ESL Challenger S42 and the BLAST.tv Paris Major, where the team qualified for the Legends stage. “We will forever be grateful for the memories you helped create,” 9INE wrote on Twitter, thanking the 25-year-old pro for his dedication over his stay with the team.

Nawrot explained in 9INE’s post that it was his decision to step down from his position at such a crucial time ahead of the BLAST open qualifiers. “I’ve been thinking about it for a good six months, before our first Pro League, but it wasn’t an ideal time so I delayed my decision,” he said. “I’m unable to focus on leading the team, you could say I feel burnt out. There is no point doing something half-heartedly.”

What Is the Coach’s Career So Far Like?

Nawrot started his career in professional Counter-Strike as a player back in 2017. For the next two years, he was part of the team Izako Boars, which went on to achieve some success in various C and B-tier events. The player continued to play on that scene and changed organizations a few times before ultimately becoming 9INE’s coach in the latter half of 2022.

The CS pro then went to help his new team win various events. His golden age was perhaps in early 2023 as 9INE came on top of multiple tournaments, such as getting first place in the Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2023: European Qualifier and the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR B.

However, nawrot has failed to replicate that success in the latter half of 2023. The last few months have not been kind to the team, as they have strung a series of losses. The team also underwent several changes throughout the autumn, but things did not seem to improve. All of this came to a climax when 9INE revealed a revamped CS2 roster early this year. Unfortunately, the new squad still needs to prove itself.

As for nawrot, he explained in the departure video that he would still like to continue working as a coach, although he said he would be looking for an assistant job, as he feels he does not have much experience yet.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
