  • Call of Duty Warzone players use the arrival of Vanguard as an opportunity to ask for more PvE events
  • Vanguard promises big changes to the game as a whole precisely because it uses the Warzone engine
  • Warzone could push the battle royale genre in an entirely new direction through the inclusion of more PvE

There is a new trend that players truly appreciate. It’s called Player versus Environment (PvE) events and Call of Duty: Warzone fans want to see more of those.

Vanguard Rekindles Hopes for More PvE in Warzone

The arrival of Vanguard as the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise has been welcomed by many, but especially so by Warzone fans who found out that Vanguard will introduce a new anti-cheat system.

The system will hopefully tackle the rampant hacking that is plaguing the competitive environment. In the meantime, though, players have also been hoping for more Player versus Environment (PvE) scenarios.

Sledgehammer confirmed the news that it’s already working with Treyarch to introduce a Black Ops Zombie mode that will be coming to Vanguard and possibly to Warzone. Fans though would love to see a more customizable mode where they put aside their differences, join on the same team and try to beat the AI.

Battle of Verdansk has proven a fantastic scenario for many players out there and Warzone players would really love to see more of this. In the meantime, Vanguard has received top marks for fanfare.

The game was presented well and even though some players expressed concerns about the loud gunning noises in Warzone, Sledgehammer Games assured that they are working with Treyarch, Infinity Wards, and others to ensure that the quality of the engine will prove significantly by the release date in October.

Pushing Battle Royale Genre in New Direction

The Warzone PvE events may actually snowball to the point where developers will have to think about that as well. Actually, PvE makes a lot of sense. Call of Duty has been a living organism for the longest time now and each game has been adding something new.

Warzone, as a battle royale game, had to stand apart from all the rest out there, such as PUBG or Fortnite for example, and the studios behind Call of Duty really made it so. The outpouring on Reddit and Twitter social media has been tangible and if developers are paying attention, they should know that they have struck a gold mine.

Sure, Warzone has been plagued by cheaters, and Dr Disrespect has been lambasting the game badly on his streams, but that is not an issue. Warzone has the potential to really break away from any constraints and expand the battle royale genre is brand new and compelling ways.

Vanguard definitely proves a great opportunity to debut more PvE events that can bring players the joy and greater satisfaction despite the ongoing problems with cheaters.
