  • Paul “PaulEhx” Avila will be taking a break from competitive CoD
  • The reason is that he needs to deal with personal things IRL
  • He will remain on the Ravens’ roster as a substitute player for now

The London Royal Ravens have lost their only American player Paul “PaulEhx” Avila who will step back to a substitute position.

PaulEhx Takes a Step Back

European CDL team London Royal Ravens have had a very lackluster 2022, not managing even a single medal after their third-place finish at the Call of Duty League 2022: Stage 1 Major in March. Despite the team boasting about its brand-new European roster before the start of the last CDL season, the organization did not manage to deliver.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons that the Ravens’ only American player, Paul “PaulEhx” Avila, decided to step back in position. Following rumors that the team would be swapping him for substitute player Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall, PaulEhx himself confirmed the change.

The American player seemed upset about the situation, which is understandable considering the situation. Although he started well early last year, the London Royal Ravens’ performance quickly plummeted and the team failed to qualify for the playoff stage of last year’s CDL.

With only Challengers to play in, PaulEhx has decided to take a step back from competing. The player went into further detail about his decision in a Twitlonger, saying that apart from his new position within the Ravens, he will also take a break from social media. “This is me stepping away from social media and from competing until I feel that I am the best person and teammate I possibly can be,” the player wrote. “I am still a part of London as their substitute, and I have their back like I know they have mine.”

The player thanked his colleagues and everyone who supports him. “I hope you will continue to support me through my journey. I’ll be back better than ever,” the player wrote.

For now, PaulEhx will remain on the London Royal Ravens’ roster, but neither he nor the organization, have announced when or if the player will return to the team’s main roster. Considering the player said he wants to take a sufficient amount of time to deal with personal issues, this might mean it will take a lot of time.

PaulEhx’s fans seem to support his decision, writing positive messages beneath the player’s Twitter post. For now, they will just have to wait patiently for the player’s return.
