  • Call of Duty: Warzone has topped 100 million players, according to COD official Twitter
  • The game was one of the five leading games in Twitch during the last months
  • A new in-game event starts today

In just a year, Call of Duty: Warzone established itself as one of the most influential titles both in terms of players and stream views.

Warzone Continues to Establish Itself among Gamers

A little bit over a year after Call of Duty: Warzone’s launch, the official Call of Duty Twitter page reported that the game had hit the remarkable 100 million players. Even though Activision doesn’t often give updates on player count, it seems that this was too great of a milestone not to share.

The game was officially launched last year on March 10. It has been continuously growing since, with a reported 80 million downloads by October.

Moreover, Call of Duty: Warzone has also established itself among the Twitch community, being the fifth most popular game streamed on the platform for the last month with an average of 105K viewers and a peak of 319K

This rise in popularity will probably strengthen the impact of upcoming events. Today Activision will be launching Operation: Rapid Sunder. The company teased that players will receive further information today after 12 PM Pacific Time. After the event’s start, they can read more about the details on the official Call of Duty blog or in-game.

Fans have speculated the event will be related to removing the zombie influence from the in-game map.

Surpassing 100 million players is no small feat for Warzone. Few titles have the luck of growing so steadily a year after release. The continuous support on Activision’s side surely works to the game’s benefit. The company recently confirmed that it’s taking necessary actions to fight against cheaters, limit their impact on the game and ensure a healthier experience for all Call of Duty enthusiasts.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
