  • Popular Dota 2 streamer discussed the differences between Twitch and Kick
  • He explained he enjoys streaming on Kick a lot more than on Twitch
  • Another prominent Dota 2 streamer, Gorgc, also had an interesting take on Arteezy’s situation

After making a switch to streaming on Kick in early November, Dota 2 streamer Arteezy has described Twitch’s community as being “super negative” with a “sh***y culture”.

Arteezy Criticizes Twitch Community

Many Dota 2 streamers have made the switch from streaming on Twitch to streaming on Kick and Artour “Arteezy” Babaev is no exception to that, he moved platforms early in November of this year and it seems like this came with a lot of changes. In a recent stream, the 27-year-old Canadian/Uzbek player compared the two platforms, defending his decision to stream on Kick.

He started the discussion by saying that he is glad to have switched to the new platform, describing it as being chill. He then criticized Twitch, saying the platform has a lot more negativity and that he does not like the culture.

“Compared to Twitch, I feel a lot more positive vibe in general. People are nicer. Twitch is just super negative; I have to pretend nothing exists,” Arteezy explained. “This year, I haven’t got that many viewers – the most I got is 16,000. It definitely has to do with more viewers, but I also think it’s just like a sh***y culture. Maybe it’s my fault, maybe I don’t know, but just sad there, not as happy times.”

Others See Things Differently

Despite Arteezy being very positive about his move to Kick, a lot of his fans don’t seem to share his enthusiasm. The streamer, who is popular mainly for his Dota 2 content has been also dabbling in gambling recently, leading to some controversies. Many fans criticized Arteezy’s foray into gambling, criticizing it and saying it’s “sad to see” he is seemingly doing more and more such streams on his Kick channel.

But it’s not only viewers who have talked about Arteezy as some other Dota 2 players have chimed in on the situation. Such is the case with prominent Dota 2 streamer Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski who had an interesting take on the situation. He has been noted for having a different outlook on the game as a whole, such as saying the Dota 2 Tier 2 scene is dead after the removal of the DPC.

For Arteezy’s situation, Gorgc said the controversy can actually be a good advertisement for the Kick streamer, as it will drum up more discussion around it. “But the people who like gambling and that kind of stuff, they’re going to watch him more. So he’s just getting paid either way,” Gorgc said in a recent stream. “The haters just don’t win, as long as he doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter. It’s actually a W [win] for him that he gets called out on Reddit. That’s kind of crazy.”

Whether or not Arteezy’s move to Kick will be a good thing in the long run remains to be seen, but for now, it seems he’s adamant that the change was a good thing.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
