- Five perks are being affected by the latest CoD: Warzone patch
- The Ghost perk will now activate only when the player is moving
- Other patches like Restock and E.O.D. have received buffs
Call of Duty: Warzone players might want to take a look at their custom classes, specifically their perks, as Raven Software recently made a lot of changes to them.
Raven Drops Perk Rebalancing Patch
The “perk” mechanic is a staple of all CoD games and Warzone recently received a patch changing how a lot of its perks work. Affected perks include popular ones like Scavenger, Restock, Quick Fix, E.O.D., and Ghost. They were all changed and released immediately as part of the Season Two Reloaded patch notes.
Players will probably notice the changes to Ghost the most, as it is a very popular perk. When applying it, players are invisible on the minimap when the enemy has a UAV. However, after the new changes, this effect will be applied only when the player is moving. The theory is that it will prevent Ghost players stay invisible when they are camping in a building or bush. To stay invisible, they’ll need to be on the move. When Ghost is active, the player’s arrow on the minimap will fade.
The Changes in Detail
Raven Software commented on the update, explaining why they did such a big change to Ghost. The studio said the perk was always beneficial in a pre-Caldera world, but the map showed that it has become even stronger with the ability to seek visual cover in foliage across the map.
“With this change we aim to balance the Perk around being mobile or being stationary, to provide more counter play opportunities around the Ghost perk,” explained Raven Software. “We are thoroughly looking at the stealth and detection meta with the intent to create more value in the options available to acquire and combat it.”
Other changed patches include Quick Fix, which will now trigger health regen as soon as a player begins to use a plate. On the other hand, Restock players should rejoice, as the charge timer is now reduced from 50 to 25 seconds except for Stims, which now has a 60-second timer.
Other updates include changes to Scavenger, which has an increased dissipation time from 20 seconds to 60 seconds. The pouch now also gives +1 Armor Plate on top of previous items. And finally, E.O.D. will reduce damage or cap the damage whichever is higher. The cap on explosive damage is not 200 instead of 80, and there is also a rise in damage reduction from 35% to 45%
This update comes just a week after Warzone and Vanguard’s season 2 Reloaded patch dropped, which included many cosmetic items, including Snoop Dogg.
