- DreamHack announced that it will remain as the host of the next European DPC season
- Things will change a bit in other regions with ESL being chosen for NA and EPICENTER taking over Eastern Europe
- The next first tour of the next season begins on November 29
Several esports production companies, including DreamHack, ESL and EPICENTER, announced they have been chosen to host the DPC regional leagues in certain regions.
Who Will Run the DPC Regionals?
During the ongoing Dota 2 off-season, teams had time to take a breather. However, this calm is soon to end as the next Dota Pro Circuit will start at the end of the month. With anticipations building up and teams getting ready to play once again, soon after updating the fanbase on the changes coming to the season’s rulings, Valve released some news about the organizers of the regions’ local leagues.
The Swedish esports production company DreamHack will return as the official organizer and broadcaster of the 2021-2022 DPC season.
However, things in other regions will see some changes.
People believed that WePlay Esports, the organizer behind the famous 2021 AniMajor, is a strong contender for Eastern Europe, thanks to its flair for atmospheric events. However, it later turned out that EPICENTER will instead be taking responsibility for the region.
In North America, on the other hand, the Los Angeles-based production company Beyond the Summit will be stepping down in favor of the German producer ESL.
It is yet to be announced whether Beyond the Summit will cover a different region with some speculating it might be put in charge of the competition in Southeast Asia.
The Schedule for DPC 2021-2022
The first tour of the next DPC season will take place between November 29, 2021, and January 23, 2022. The esports team organization Alliance, which leaked the schedule of the DPC season, said that the Major will come sometime in February. People weren’t quite sure whether Alliance’s leak was legit but judging from the fact the team nailed the dates of the first DPC season, it is probably correct on the Major time frame as well.
Next up will be the second DPC tour which will take place between March 14, 2022, and April 24, 2022, with a Major tournament taking place in May.
Lastly, since the 2021-2022 DPC season is returning to having three stages, the third tour will begin on June 6 and will run until July 17. The last Major event is scheduled for August.
The next season begins soon with teams and fans having less than a month to prepare.
