Dataminer and prominent LoL leaker Big Bad Bear shared information that implies more champions across the PC and mobile versions of the game will be getting Coven-themed skins.
New Skins Leaked
League of Legends is quite famous for having multiple series of skins with champions sharing common design elements and even lore. One unique series that is also highly sought after is the Coven skins, which presents the champions in a high-fashion witch queen aesthetic.
This series was first introduced to League of Legends in 2018, and three years later in 2021, some other champions were added to the skin line. It is said that Riot Games’ designers drew inspiration from works like The Witch, Game of Thrones, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, while the name “Coven” reinforces the theme of a witches’ meeting.
All of this has made the skin line popular amongst fans and if recent rumors turn out to be true, more champions will be joining the series this year. According to leaks by renowned data miner Big Bad Bear, seven characters will receive Coven-themed skins, these being: Syndra, Nami, Elise, Nilah, Akali, Renata Glasc, and Mordekaiser.
Additionally, it seems that the Legendary skin from the Coven collection 2023 will either go to Syndra or Nami. Some of these skins like the Mordekaiser one could fall into Old God or Eclipse skins also since they are not confirmed yet. The latter skin line features champions as monastic knights, forest inhabitants, evil witches, or gods of an old world, and it officially includes these four skinlines: General Eclipse, Coven, Death Blossom, and Elderwood.
It also seems that Legends of Runeterra and Wild Rift players will also be getting some Coven exclusives. For the latter, it is very likely that Nilah will be receiving a Coven-themed skin. It should also be noted that Coven Janna’s skin might only be present in LoR and will not be included in the PC version. Meanwhile, Wild Rift’s Zyra and Evelynn will also likely receive Coven skins, as they already have them in the PC version.
Although the rumors promise good things for fans of the skin line, Big Bad Bear’s leks did not specify when exactly they will be implemented into the respective games. Some suggested the skins will be coming with League of Legends’ Patch 13.19, so if that’s the case, we can expect an official statement from Riot Games very soon.
