Big Changes Coming with Episode 7
With the launch of VALORANT’s next season, it’s important for one to make themselves familiar with what to expect in Episode 7. It looks like Riot Games have gone an extra step, as the new season will be packed with content, including new agents, new game modes, as well as an overhauled Progression System.
Launching next week on June 27, VALORANT’s newest season will, like always, be divided into three separate Acts. There’s the possibility that Riot could change the exact timings of the launch, so it’s advised to check for updates regularly. However, if nothing changes, the timings of the launch of the new Episode, based on the current Act, are as follows: 10 pm BST / 5 pm ET / 2 pm PT.
One of the biggest changes coming to the game with the arrival of Episode 7 is a new game mode – Team Deathmatch. The 5vs5 mode has been something fans have been wanting for a long time and it will involve both abilities and weapons. There will be four stages of gameplay, allowing players to upgrade weapons, restore health, and even use Agent abilities.
VALORANT’s progression system will also receive a complete overhaul with the next season’s arrival. One of its biggest changes will be to agent contracts, which previously determined how players unlocked new agents. Now, players will do this using the new in-game currency called Kingdom Credits. This should bring a fresh approach to how players progress through the game and unlock new content.
Last, but certainly not least, Episode 7 of VALORANT will see the arrival of a brand new agent, which was already teased in a cryptic trailer featuring Killjoy and Raze last week. We already know the new character’s name and it’s simply Agent 23. They are a sentinel that seems to have some kind of personal vendetta against Killjoy, as teased by the short trailer. The video also showed various maps from the game, being “renamed” by said new Agent, perhaps as a way to tease the upcoming Deathmatch mode.
More detailed information is likely to be released in the upcoming days, but it already looks like Episode 7 will be packed with content.
