  • Neon Esports and T1 have both made the cut for the Singapore Major in March
  • The team will play on February 27 to decide a tie-breaker for 2nd and 3rd spot
  • TNC Predator, Boom Esports and Execration all missed out on qualifying

Neon Esports and T1 are both qualifying for the Singapore Major, the first on the Dota Pro Circuit this year.

T1 and Neon Both Make the Cut

The Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Southeast Asia has ended, and Neon Esports and T1, the runner-up, and winners are actually both heading for the Singapore Major. This will be the first time any of the two squads have made it to a Major event, the most important parts of the Dota Pro Circuit, which lead to The International.

With esports schedule still juggled around due to the pandemic, the Singapore Major hosted by ONE Esports is the first of the big Dota 2 events to return in an official capacity. The event kicks off on March 27 and will run through April 42021, with 18 teams competing for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and 2,700 Pro Circuit Points.

T1 secured Game 1, relying on hard farmers, which resulted in an uneasy mid-to-late game for Neon, who reciprocated in Game 2 with a Wisp carry which surprised T1 and forced them out. Yet, this didn’t really discourage T1, who jumped in Game 3, bringing their best plays, fielding Death Prophet and Wraith King, which proved an unforgiving combo.

Breaking the Tie for the Singapore Major

With T1 winning the series, both teams stood at 5-2, giving them an automatic qualification for the Singapore Major, trailing Fnatic’s 6-1 in the event. However, there are a few things to consider.

For starters, Neon and T1 will have to play an additional game to break the tie and qualify 2nd and 3rd. The game is taking place on February 27. Once this is out of the way, one team will head right to the Singapore Major group stage, whereas the other one would have to play a wild card during the event.

Surprisingly, TNC PredatorBOOM Esports, and Execration missed the qualifier in rather a surprise upsets.
