A new cosmetic item from Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 might hint that there will be a fifth weapon added sometime in Season 4, despite there being currently only four announced.
Charm Hints at Secret New Gun
With the arrival of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II’s fourth season, players expected to see four new weapons implemented into the games. The current Battle Pass already has the ISO 45 submachine gun and Tempus Razorback assault rifle, while the ongoing Assault on Vondel community event lets fans earn the Tonfa, the game’s newest melee weapon. Meanwhile, the fourth weapon, which is an automatic shotgun, is supposed to arrive in Season 4 Reloaded.
However, it seems Infinity Ward and Raven Software have prepared a fifth weapon but have not said anything about it yet. Despite that, one sharp-eyed CoD player has found a weapon attachment that hints at the arrival of an unannounced fifth weapon sometime during Season 4.
The player that goes by the username of Lindeboombier posted a screenshot on the MWII subreddit of the Tonfa mastery Weapon Charm, which is what made them think there might be a fifth as of yet unannounced weapon coming to the game at some later point. The charm reads “03/05”, which, according to the poster, means there will still be two more weapons – one being the automatic shotgun, and the last one being the speculated fifth weapon.
This idea is not very far-fetched as DLC weapons from previous seasons have featured the same Weapon Charms with them in reference to the total number of items arriving in each respective season. Also considering the fact that Seasons 1 and 3 only saw four new weapons added, while Season 2 introduced five (ISO Hemlock, KV Broadside, Dual Kodachis, Crossbow, and Tempus Torrent), it’s not out of the question that Season 4 might also feature five weapons. Perhaps the MWII devs have planned for big gun updates to be on every even-numbered season.
At the time of writing of this article, Raven Software has not announced any new items coming later in Season 4. However, a leak that appeared in late Match about potential post-launch weapons might give us some clues as to what to expect. Some of these weapons have been added to the game since the leak surfaced, but others have not yet. If the list continues to be trustworthy, then the rumored fifth gun for Season 4 might be one of the following: MCX Spear, WA 2000, Scattato 2011, Vulcan-M, APC-9, or another melee weapon.
Ultimately, fans would just have to wait and see if the game’s devs announce anything new soon.
