- The decision is one of the last one overseen by current MGA CEO Carl Brincat
- Betby officials say the approval is a major milestone for the company
- It comes just a few weeks before Betby showcases its newest solutions in London
Operators holding an MGA license will soon be able to use Betby’s esports odds tracking tools following a decision by the regulator.
Betby Gains MGA Approval
Betby is expanding its operations thanks to a recent approval that the software provider has received from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). It will allow Betby to offer its services, which include pre-match and live odds, content coverage, and a statistics hub for various esports to operators holding an MGA license.
Betby’s solutions also include risk management tools, back office tools, and live broadcasting of esports through Twitch. The company prides itself on constantly improving its sportsbook through the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Interestingly, the approval, which comes following an audit from the MGA, with the solution meeting all necessary requirements for regulation, is one of the last ones overseen by the current CEO of the regulator Carl Brincat. He will soon be succeeded by Charles Mizzi, whom The Board of Governors appointed to the position in December. He will be coming to the position following five years as CEO of the Residency Malta Agency, while his previous experience was in the fields surrounding finance, investment, and Maltese business.
Betby Officials Talk about the Approval
“This is a major milestone for Betby. During the past years, Betby has invested heavily in its own esports odds feed product… We are already collaborating with some of the leading esports feed suppliers in the industry and the feedback has been astounding,” commented Betby COO Eva Berkova on the approval.
Betby Head of Legal Ilze Ramolina added that Betby is very proud to have received this approval from the MGA, noting the company highly appreciates the cooperation with the regulator. “Approval of the esports odds feed is an important addition to our existing verticals. The work does not stop here as Betby has big ambitions to expand the offering of its products in the regulated jurisdictions,” they explained.
The MGA’s decision comes just in time for the release of Betby’s newest offerings. The company will soon be attending the upcoming ICE London, a prominent global showcase of innovative technologies. “We’re delighted to be attending and showcasing our ground-breaking technology in what is the industry’s most anticipated expo.,” said Berkova about the event which will show tools that MGA license holders will soon also use.
“Now we look forward to launch our latest tools which together with our sportsbook solution will empower even further sportsbook operators with top-level management capabilities whilst providing users with a seamless and more immersive betting experience,” she explained.
