- The player might be returning to Team Liquid after spending years with FaZe
- Reports also mention that Liquid wants to acquire Heroic’s AWPer Casper “cadiaN” Moller
- Some verbal agreements have allegedly already been reached
It seems that team Liquid is planning to rebuild its Counter-Strike roster by bringing aboard both old and new players, and even a Major-winning veteran coach.
Rumors About Liquid Circulate
Professional esports players’ careers can be very exciting with pros often changing the teams they play in. Sometimes it happens that a player returns to an organization they have already been a part of before, and it seems that Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken will also do the same soon.
According to a report by Dust2.us, the 23-year-old player, who is currently on FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike 2 roster, might be returning to Team Liquid. “Several sources close to Liquid have told Dust2.us that the organization is set for a bombshell signing of FaZe’s Canadian champion Russell “Twistzz” Van Dulken,” the report reads.
If the deal turns out to be true, it will mean that Twistzz will return to Liquid after having left the organization back in 2020. The initial move to FaZe was a career-defining moment for the Canadian as he would go on to become the sixth NA player to win a Major as well as the only player to win two Intel Grand Slams.
That being said, it seems that Liquid will have some competition in signing the young player, as he was allegedly also in talks with Vitality at the same time. The fact that FaZe just won IEM Sydney, the first big event hosted on Counter-Strike 2, makes Twistzz an even more valuable commodity. Although Dust2’s sources say the rifler has already made up his mind to rejoin Liquid, the organization has yet to announce anything officially, so we might see the player become a part of Vitality instead.
Whom Else Is Liquid Looking At?
Interestingly, the report also mentioned Heroic’s star IGL and AWPer Casper “cadiaN” Moller is in talks with Team Liquid. A verbal agreement had already been allegedly reached, but there is currently no news of a contract signed. This has resulted in Liquid’s Josh “oSee” Ohm being allowed to explore his options to make room for the new players, but things are still up in the air.
In addition to these two players, Team Liquid is allegedly looking at signing paiN’s Felipe “skullz” Medeiros as well as Major-winning veteran coach Wilton “zews” Prado. Once again, however, take these rumors with a pinch of salt as the most definitive information is that negotiations have only reached some verbal agreements.
However, if Team Liquid signs all of these names, it would be quite a large rebuild as the organization looks to reassert itself on the world stage and also return to the Americas region after an ill-fated exodus. Team Liquid’s roster might look like this in the near future:
- Keith “NAF” Markovic
- “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis
- Casper “cadiaN” Møller
- Felipe “skullz” Medeiros
- Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken
- Wilton “zews” Prado (Coach)
