Wild Rift’s First Global Tournament
League of Legends: Wild Rift, the hugely popular mobile version of Riot's flagship game League of Legends, will have its first worldwide tournament in November. This was announced earlier this month by Wild Rift, who also stated the location of the tournament to be Singapore.
Leo Faria, Head of Wild Rift esports, revealed the event’s half a million-dollar prize pool in a video on Wild Rift’s official channel. “The top ten teams will compete for a $500,000 prize pool and the glory of being the first team to win an international Wild Rift esports competition.”, he said in the video statement.
In recent years, mobile gaming has been becoming more and more popular in East and South-East Asia. With ESA announcing its endorsement of Wild Rift last month, tons of players buckled up to try and get into the future tournament.
