TSM Welcomes Back Former Academy Member Tactical

in League of Legends
November 23, 2021
  • Tactical, a former TSM Academy player, has joined the organization’s main League of Legends team
  • The player has played with Team Liquid, seeing moderate success and qualifying for the World Championship two years in a row
  • This acquisition is only one in a row of changes that TSM has planned to implement ahead of the next competitive season

TSM reacquires former TSM Academy LoL player Edward “Tactical” Ra as the organization seeks to build a strong roster ahead of the 2022 season.

Tactical Returns to TSM

In preparation for the 2022 League of Legends competitive season, Team SoloMid has brought back Edward “Tactical” Ra to its professional team. This is only the first in a row of changes that TSM has prepared for the next year.

We're making our first change ahead of the 2022 LCS season. A familiar face to many and our starting bot laner, @Tactical.

Tactical will be reassuming his usual bot laner role in the organization. He has previously played under TSM’s banner in 2019 and 2020 as a part of the TSM Academy roster. After that, Tactical left the organization and joined Team Liquid’s academy team. Eventually, the player graduated from the academy lineup and joined Liquid’s main roster.

During that time, Team Liquid qualified for the World Championship two times. Furthermore, Tactical’s time in the team saw the esports organization place first in the League of Legends Championship Series Lock-In Championship 2021.

Tactical’s time in Team Liquid came to an end four days ago when the organization decided to lay him off alongside his colleague Barney “Aphari” Morris. Yet, Tactical was quick to find himself a new organization.

There Are Still Some Spots to Fill

TSM has planned to make more changes before the next competitive season has officially begun. The organization is reportedly planning to freshen things up both among its players and among the coaching squad.

Currently, TSM has to find a midlaner, a new support and a new head coach. The organization recently saw the leave of its seasoned midlaner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and has to fill in his spot before heading to the next season. Support Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh left the organization in October, which seemed very surprising to fans of the team.

Esports news outlet DotEsports has reported that Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle is in talks of signing a deal with TSM that will see him fill in the vacant support spot. However, the report emphasized that this deal isn’t set in stone yet. Additionally, the site’s journalist reported that TSM is also in talks of acquiring Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei as a head coach but is also yet to be confirmed.

TSM remains one of the most influential esports organizations in the world despite its League of Legends roster failing to yield great results in the 2021 season. The organization is now seeking to correct this for the upcoming competitive season.
