Riot Games’ Arcane has cemented itself as one of the best contemporary animations, earning nine awards at the 49th Annie Awards.
Arcane Won Nine Awards
Arcane, the series based on Riot Games’ world of Runeterra, has been an undeniable hit. The show managed to appeal both to long-time fans of Riot’s titles and to people who have never even touched League of Legends. With millions of people showing their adoration of Arcane, it is hardly surprising the show won the most awards at the 49th Annie Awards.
Despite facing off against the biggest names in recent animation, Arcane managed to win nine out of Annie Awards’ 30 categories. The awards were distributed among the show’s episodes but “The Monster You Created” and “When These Walls Come Tumbling Down” proved to be the best, with each receiving a prize in three categories.

The Show Prevailed Against Fearsome Competitors
The 49th Annie Awards had a little fewer than 80 participants. Arcane went toe to toe with titles such as Star Wars: Visions, Castlevania, The Mitchells vs. The Machines and Love, Death & Robots. The Mitchells vs. The Machines was Arcane’s strongest competitor and earned eight awards.
It is without a doubt that Riot Games knows what the public wants. Its biggest competitive titles, League of Legends and VALORANT, have cemented themselves as two of the biggest esports games ever. With Arcane, the company demonstrated that it knows what makes for an interesting story as well. Furthermore, Riot Games’ taste in music greatly benefitted the show, with Arcane’s main theme, “Enemy” by Imagine Dragons & JID, appealing to countless people.
The success of Arcane has earned it a second season, which is currently being produced.
