- Riot launches new Pick’Em games that have fans guess the outcome of the LoL World Championship
- This year’s edition will have fans guess who the champion will be before the play-in stage has even begun
- Those who miss taking a pick will have one randomized for them by the new “The Coin” feature
Riot Games has released this year’s iteration of the Pick’em games. It has new features to keep fans engaged and some exciting prizes in store.
This Year’s New Features
With the League of Legends World Championship 2021 starting in less than two weeks, Riot Games rolled out the annual edition of its Pick’em prediction games. This year’s iteration of Pick’em will include new features that will engage fans more than ever.
This year’s edition of Pick’em launched on September 26, several days ahead of the World Championship’s start. It comes fully packed with new exciting features.
One of them is the new prediction option called “The Crystal Ball”. It will have players divine who the champion of the event will be before the event has even started. Those who nail it will be awarded 20 in-game points to their total Pick’em score. Fans can make their predictions until the event’s launch on October 5.
Another feature that is coming to the new edition of Pick’em is “The Coin”. The Coin is Riot Games’ way to acknowledge that just because fans have missed voting on one of the voting stages doesn’t mean they aren’t passionate about the event’s outcome – as such, The Coin will randomly select an outcome for each pick stage that has been missed by the player.
Lastly, The Feed will tell people how they did throughout the event and how many of their guesses ended up being correct.
Prizes Await the Best Pickers
Depending on their performance in the Pick’em games, fans have the chance to earn special prizes for their own League of Legends accounts. This year’s rewards include Esports Capsules, Hextech Chests, Blue Essence and Summoner Icons.
The lucky few who have been gifted with second sight and manage to guess each and every outcome in the Pick’em challenges will receive the Ultimate prize – a cache containing every Ultimate League of Legends skill that has been released to date: K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine, Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, Elementalist Lux, DJ Sona, Spirit Guard Udyr and Pulsefire Ezreal.
The play-in stage of the League of Legends World Championship 2021 begins on October 5. Then, with the start of the group stages on October 10, the main Pick’em challenges will also launch.
