Riot Games and Secret Cinema will work together for an immersive Arcane event that will blur the lines between watching a movie and playing a game.
Riot and Secret Cinema to Host an Event in Celebration of Arcane
Video games development company Riot Games will be collaborating with immersive cinema specialist Secret Cinema for an exciting Arcane event. The collaboration aims to provide fans of Riot’s famous MOBA League of Legends with an unforgettable immersive experience.
The event is scheduled for November 21 and will take place in Los Angeles but fans will be able to buy tickets as early as October 14. It will be centered on Riot Games’ upcoming TV series Arcane.
The series is set in the same universe as League of Legends – the fictional universe of Runeterra. It will expand on the game’s pre-established lore and will introduce viewers to the heavenly city of Piltover and the unfriendly backwater underground Zaun. Some of the most beloved characters from the League of Legends franchise, such as Jinx, Vi, Jayce, and Caitlyn will make an appearance. The series will launch on November 6 on Netflix and will have a total of nine episodes, separated into three equally long acts of three episodes.
Letting Fans Become a Part of the Action
Secret Cinema will build on the excitement and will make viewers a part of the action, with bespoke backstories and missions. The immersive and interactive experience will blur the line between the viewers and the actors, letting participants experience everything as if they were there. The audience won’t feel just as viewers but rather as players, as they will have to evade the Enforcers of the rich city of Piltover.
The chief executive officer of Secret Cinema, Max Alexander, spoke about the collaboration with Riot Games. He feels that both Secret Cinema and Riot Games share the same philosophy and goals as they both want to immerse people into a fictional universe and allow them to temporarily adopt a new identity.
“Our partnership will build a world that the fans already know intimately, but which they can now for the first time engage and play out a storyline unique to this production,” Alexander said.
Fans of the franchise can sign up for the exciting event by buying a ticket from October 14 onwards. Ticket prices will start from $70.
