League of Legends’ Pacific Championship Series will soon see the return of former world champion Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia as a part of PSG Talon’s lineup.
PSG Talon Adds JunJia
Most region’s teams already have their rosters locked in for the various spring splits, but PSG Talon has made some last-minute changes bringing on board one of the best talents available on the market. Putting their confidence on the laurels of a former Worlds champion, Talon has signed former EDward Gaming jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia, who will be part of the team competing in the PCS this year. The transfer was confirmed in a trailer-like video on Twitter today.
With this signing, JunJia becomes the sixth man in Talon’s squad. He will be joining top laner Huang “Azhi” Shang-Jhih, jungler Huang “Husha” Tzu-Wei, mid laner Chen “ubao” Chang-Chu, ADC Tsou “Wako” Wei-Yang, and support Lin “Woody” Yu-En.
With this signing, PSG Talon hopes to turn its fortunes for the rest of the season. The organization had a very disappointing last year which saw PSG Talon failing to qualify for Worlds 2022. Because of this, the organization decided to completely revamp its roster using domestic talent. The signing of JunJia is just the latest addition made by this doctrine. Talon’s new doctrine seems to have worked well for the team as it is currently third in the standings with a 4-2 record, one win away from the top two of CTBC Flying Oyster and Frank Esports.
The 20-year-old JunJia will bring several years of high-class experience to the team. Despite his young age, the player had already started his professional career in 2018 with SuperEsports. A year later, he transferred to EDG, joining the team as a substitute jungler, but was never really able to prove himself. JunJia always found himself sharing a spot with the team’s starting jungler Jiejie. JunJia’s lack of spotlight continued during his short stint on Rare Atom, where he was unable to be on the starting roster.
Despite that, JunJia’s individual skills are more than enviable. He is noted as being a great solo queue player, having reached the top rank in both the Korean and European servers in 2021. On his new roster, he will once again be sharing the jungler spot, but with such credentials behind himself, PSG Talon will most likely make a lot of use of the player, meaning we will be seeing a lot more of JunJia in the coming months.
