- Orianna suffered a visual glitch that occurred during her performing her ultimate
- The bug was discovered by Rogue's mid laner Larssen during a march against GAM Esports
- Fortunately, the glitch did not interfere with The Worlds too much
After being disabled for several days during the League of Legends World Championship 2022 due to a bug, Oriana is finally back in action.
Orianna Is Back
Games such as League of Legends often have patches and updates that often bring with them some bugs. Normally, that’s annoying as it can often interfere with players’ games, but bugs are even more troublesome when they occur during important world tournaments. Well, this is exactly what happened a few days ago at the LoL World Championship when a bug with Orianna forced Riot to take out the champion for a couple of days.
Fortunately, the company acted relatively quickly and it recently put out a statement announcing that Orianna is back in action. Riot hotfixed the issue with her orb and thus she will be playable for the second half of the group stage.
What Caused Oriana to Be Temporarily Taken Out?
At a very inconvenient time, considering the Worlds are currently ongoing, a visual bug with Orianna’s orb was discovered when Rogue's mid laner Larssen played her against GAM Esports on October 10. It had looked like the orb was on top of Orianna, but when the player used his ultimate, Viktor who was far away, also got pulled into the ultimate. Following this, Riot released a statement on Twitter saying the champion will be disabled at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship until further notice.
The good thing was that Orianna’s temporary absence did not impact the tournament almost at all. She is not one of the most-picked champions so not many players saw it as a problem that they could not play with her. Thus far in the 2022 Group Stage Orianna had only been picked once in three days, that one time being played by Rogue’s mid laner Larssen, who first noticed the visual glitch.
However, Orianna is not the only champion to be disabled for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship. Riot also announced ahead of the tournament that the Udyr VGU will not be playable during the event.
