Cloud9’s League of Legends team parts ways with Mithy, Reignover, and Westrice before the start of the 2022 LCS season.

Changes to Cloud9’s Staff and Roster

Cloud9 has made huge changes to their League of Legends team, parting ways with coaching staff and players. On November 30 the majority of the coaches left. This includes former pro players Mithy, Reignover, and Westrice. The three of them will now have to find other teams to guide before the start of the 2022 competitive cycle.

Cloud9 has already set its roster for the next season, however, with the recent staff changes it is still unknown who will be helping the new team in the next season. The current roster is comprised of the following members:

  • Summit – Top Laner
  • Blaber  – Jungler
  • Fudge   – Mid Laner
  • Berserker – Bot Laner
  • Zven – Bot Laner
  • Isles – Support
  • Winsome – Support

The Coaches’ History with Cloud9

Cloud9’s now-former coaches have been a crucial part of the organization’s successes over the years.

Westrice has been a coach in the team for the longest time. He joined the team back in 2018, spending most of his time as the head coach for Cloud9’s Academy, but also spend some time as an assistant coach with C9’s main squad. Cloud9 thanked him for his four years of service in a Twitter post.

Reignover has been a part of the organization for two years and has since worked in many different positions. When he joined Cloud9 in May 2019 he was an LCS positional coach. Then at the beginning of 2020 Reignover transitioned over to the head coach position for C9’s Academy team. In October the same year, he became the head coach for C9’s main roster, holding the position until the Summer Split 2021 when he was replaced by Mithy.

Speaking of Mithy, was in Cloud9’s coaching staff for the shortest amount of time. The former support joined C9 at the end of 2020 as a strategic coach for its LCS roster. After five months he became the head coach of the team, a position that let him help the team into an impressive run through the Group of Death at the 2021 World Championship.

With their combined skills and leadership, the three former coaches helped produce one of the best NA teams we have seen in recent years. With such big staff and roster changes, it is unknown how Cloud9 will perform in the next season.
