After leaving Cloud9 just a day ago, Mithy will bring his immense potential and talent as a coach at 100 Thieves as the team attempts to defend its LCS title.
Mithy to Shape 100 Thieves Fortunes in 2021/2022 Season
The next League of Legends season is upon us, and with this, there are some big changes to be expected. After Cloud9 parted ways with no fewer than three members, other teams from the competitive world of the game are making last-minute adjustments, hoping that those would help them do better in the new season.
100 Thieves is adding Mithy, who has just retired from Cloud9. He will be joining Reapered and Freeze to help the LCS team make it to the regional champions this season. North America has been kind to Mithy as a player and a coach. He first played with Team SoloMid (now TSM FTX) back in 2018 before returning for a brief stint home in Europe with Origen.
That was followed up by a stint with Fnatic where Mithy became a coach in 2020. His coaching did help Fnatic make back-to-back LEC Finals but he then decided to move to Cloud9, which won the LCS championship and the 2021 Spring Split. Cloud9 did well in the World Championship, but it seems that Mithy has been tempted by the new opportunity at 100 Thieves, his latest team.
100 Thieves the Right New Home for Mithy
100 Thieves is a formidable organization of its own making that has been one of the most competitive outfits in the North American League of Legends scene. The team has just acquired Ssumday, and they will be pushing for a strong performance this season, hoping to defend their LCS title.
Mithy is touted as a capable coach who has helped shape the fortunes of many top-performing teams. He has the prescience and qualities that make him a great coach as he knows when the time to move on has come. This is beneficial to both the teams he helps coaches as well as the competitive League of Legends ecosystem as a whole.
While no team can make a claim to Mithy’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the game, his coaching skills are the result of working with some of the biggest names in the industry. Next in line are 100 Thieves who are determined to continue dominating the LCS pecking order.
