Immortals Join Wild Rift with New Roster
The hype for League of Legends: Wild Rift builds up as Immortals becomes the latest organization to consider joining the mobile alter ego of Riot Games' popular MOBA game. In fact, Immortals is the third League of Legends Champions Series (LCS) team to has done so.
While Immortals are firm in their commitment to the new roster, they have not announced the names of the players, bar that of SeongHun “Hoon” Jang, a YouTube content creator, who will lead the team.
Although he is known for his work around Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, one of Wild Rift's main competitors in the MOBA genre, Hoon is supposedly making a more definitive switch to Wild Rift, signaling his confidence in the game's future prospects.
Hoon Excited to Be Part of Squad
Immortals will use Hoon's content skills and bring him on board as a content creator as well. He was immediately pleased with the opportunity to be competing under the Immortals' banner: “To have an organization like Immortals invest in my passion for Wild Rift and include me in their expansion to mobile esports is mind-blowing.”
Hoon was confident that he would be able to help the organization in creating a new Wild Rift franchise that fans can rally around. Meanwhile, Immortals is following in the footsteps of others by signing up Wild Rift teams.
Cloud9 and TSM FTX both announced that they are branching into Riot Games' mobile title, which, while still less popular than other mainstream mobile games, is gaining traction. Presently, Wild Rift is still behind other competitive titles such as Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings, but the esports ecosystem is developing quickly.
