Captain Flowers Will Not Cast at the World Championship 2021

in League of Legends
September 8, 2021
  • Beloved League of Legends caster CaptainFlowers will forgo casting at the LoL World Championship 2021
  • His main reasons for skipping the event are health concerns
  • Captain Flowers said that his decision is final and he doesn’t want to strain himself

Unfortunately, Captain Flowers will not be among the casting team during the League of Legends World Championship because of health concerns.

Captain Flowers to Skip Worlds 2021

Clayton “Captain Flowers” Raines, one of the League of Legends Championship Series’ best casters, will sadly be skipping the League of Legends World Championship this year. The famous talent has some health concerns and is reluctant to go through additional stress just to cast at the event.

Captain Flowers announced this via an official tweet on his own Twitter page. The statement reads that the caster is been doing poorly in recent years and his physical and mental health aren’t in perfect condition.

I will not be doing Worlds 2021.

“My physical and mental health are both a long way from where I’d like them to be,” CaptainFlowers revealed and added that he’s been unable to sleep well or exercise enough.

The talent elaborated that the change of venue from China to Europe didn’t affect his decision. He also added that Riot very much wanted him to participate and the decision to miss the event is entirely one of his own. Attending the World Championship will require him to drastically change his usual schedule and struggle with even more stress. The caster explained that the time difference of casting in another country usually takes a huge toll on him.

Casting at a Normal US Time

With all said and done, it seems like fans will not be able to enjoy Captain Flowers’ casting live at the World Championship 2021. However, that isn’t to say that they won’t be able to see him in action at all. Captain Flowers announced that he will be streaming a recording of the World Championship on Twitch and giving a commentary on the event but that will happen at normal North America hours.

This will make his stream a good alternative for American League of Legends esports fans who cannot watch the event live.

Captain Flowers has worked for the LCS for four years now. His quick way of talking and commenting on live events has earned him the title of LoL’s Rap God. The talent has participated as a caster at some of the most memorable League of Legends esports games.
